An Unfold Stories Publication
Someone you lovehas stories you've neverheard.
A weekly question. A year of answers.
A printed book of their life.
First Edition·Spring 2026
I built this for the people in my life I love most — my mum, my partner, the friends I've known for twenty years. Each of them carries a hundred stories I've heard in fragments and a thousand more I've never thought to ask about. There's never a good moment to sit down and pull on the thread.
So I built the thing I wanted: a friendly bot that asks one warm question a week on WhatsApp, in their own time, on their own phone. A year from now I'll be holding a hardback book of someone's life in their own words.
I'm opening it to 100 UK families this spring. If you'd give it to someone you love, drop your email above — I'll write to you personally when we open.

"The kind of stories you wish
you'd written down."
i.
Each week, we send them one warm question on WhatsApp. Saturdays at 10:00, when most people have a quiet morning.
ii.
They reply however suits them — a typed sentence, a five-minute voice note, a forwarded photograph. The bot is patient and warm.
iii.
A year later, an editor compiles their answers into a hardback book of their life in their own words. It arrives in the post.
The question we will send them
"What's the first thing you ever bought with your own wages?"

Chapter One
1962, Manchester
The front door was painted that awful municipal green — my mother hated it. You walked straight into the hallway, which always smelled of pipe tobacco because of my grandfather. The kitchen was at the end, with a window that never quite shut properly, and a wireless that was always on…

— an illustrative sample, set in the type we'll print —
- Q.When are you launching?
- A.Spring 2026, UK only. We'll email you the day we open.
- Q.How much will it cost?
- A.£59 Essential / £79 Classic. The first 100 families get £20 off the final book — that's why we're running this waitlist.
- Q.Who's the recipient — does it have to be a parent?
- A.No. The most common gift is for a parent, but our test storytellers include grandparents, partners, and a couple of long-time best friends. Anyone whose stories you want to read.
- Q.What if they don't use WhatsApp much?
- A.That's most of our test users. Voice notes work just as well as typing, and the bot is patient. If they can text "happy birthday", they can do this.
- Q.What happens to their stories and our data?
- A.UK-based, GDPR-first. We use zero-retention AI providers. You can delete every story with one click. See our privacy notice.
- Q.Who's behind this?
- A.Me. I'm Alon — see the preface above. A one-person team in the UK, building this carefully for British families.
- Q.Can I leave the waitlist?
- A.Yes, one-click unsubscribe on any email we send you.
